UK Lasting Power of Attorney
You're never too young to plan for your future, whatever is in store. Lasting Power of Attorney ensures your wishes are observed and your best interests considered should you become unable to make decisions for yourself. These are ensured by appointing a health decisions attorney and a financial decisions attorney when you create and register formal Lasting Power of Attorney documents.
No-one likes to think of the worst happening and the further away "old age" is, the harder it is to envisage the scenario. Should you become ill, be involved in an accident, somehow be unable to make decisions for yourself, these documents ensure you have the final say in what happens to you, your property, your finances and, where relevant, your business.

Health & WelfareWhen decisions about your everyday care, health, medical treatment and even whether to provide or withdraw life-sustaining has to be made, this type of Lasting Power of Attorney allows you to decide what happens, how it happens and by whom, when you, unfortunately, are incapable of doing so even temporarily. Property & Financial
This allows you to state who is allowed to make decisions on your behalf and what your wishes are around your property, your money and anything of a financial nature held in your name when your health means you are no longer able to make these decisions for yourself. This means too that anyone you do not wish to have involved is excluded. It can cover paying bills for you and receiving benefits on your behalf, for example.

BusinessRelevant to all businesses including, especially, sole traders/directors. The document is the same as the Property & Financial one but makes specific provision for your business only, which will have different requirements to your personal finances and property as you may wish for some specific person to continue your business in a certain way. The person you wish to have handle your personal affairs may not be the best placed to manage your business.

FAQWhat is YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THIS FIELD?
2:1 in law, 20 years experience working on international legal documents, paralegal assistant to a solicitor with 30 years of specialism in powers of attorney and will drafting. Completed Institute of Professional Will Writers training courses.
How do i know your work is reliable?
Work will be carried out to a professional standard with all due diligence always aligned with the requirements of the Office of the Public Guardian which is responsible for approving and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney. Second opinions and review by experienced colleagues will form part of the current service.
how does your service compare to services advertised for much lower fees?
At present only LPA creation is offered but will writing will be offered in the near future. In the meantime, we can refer you to a specialist will writer on request. There are many offers online for very cheap services. Enquiry shows these budget services cover the very basics of will drafting with additional fees for more complex means. Add-on services are offered for sale to clients who are mostly required to sign an agreement on a percentage of their estate being payable to the will writing business. This simply means, considerably higher fees for anything beyond a simple basic will, and although you may benefit from the low cost, your family will lose out on part of their inheritance because of the agreement for a "cut". This is on top of legal fees you may incur when dealing with the deceased's estate. This is not how we work: clear fixed pricing for the service offered with clear explanations.
are you dbs checked?
Yes, is the short answer to this question. Safeguards are essential when dealing with potentially vulnerable members of the public of any age.
